A day with Smriti Irani

- I was born in New Delhi in 1976. I was the sports captain in school. I've done everything -- from javelin to discus to basketball to judo. But now I don't have time for any exercise.
- I am the BJP youth wing's vice-president for Maharashtra. I am also a member of the party's state and national executive. The unfortunate part of being an actor-politician is that people feel an actor will not take her political commitments seriously.
- I have never consciously tried to create an image. It happened because my producer created a project, which became a hit. The team has made it a hit. People must remember that not everything they read is true. I take my work one day at a time. Like I am shooting today with this script, which is meant for today only. I am not a conversationalist kind of person.
- I don't have time for movies. It is not easy to adjust my schedule with movies. I like to give quality time to a project. If I have to run helter-skelter, I will not be able to give my best.
- I do not discuss my private life. I don't want to talk about even a simple day at home. At the start of my career, I met a senior journalist who told me the media has as much access to an actor's life as the actor permits. I have heard actors crib about how little privacy they have.
- As I am a public person -- as an actor and politician -- I am open to discussion. But as far as family is concerned, I don't leave the door open -- particularly where my children are concerned
- My son is three years old and my daughter is two.

smiriti is the best of all. but i think it is to worry now that she has grown older in kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi . because as we become older itr means that we are going to die. so i think she should not act with white hair because this serial is nothing without tulsi so i think she should be as she was. she should apply more make up and wear beautiful sarees as before. then everything will be ok
